About like having a dog in the back of a pick-up, isn’t it? Things can fly in their face, the wind can choke them, the sun baking down on their tiny little faces.
Yeah, I guess some people would call that fun for the child.
NOTHING is going to fly into their face. The wind is NOT going to choke them. Put a cap on to block the sun and HAVE A GOOD trip!!!!! NOOOOOOOOO problem……
P.S. Top up OR down, doesn’t matter. The odds of rolling over are about the same as winning the lotto. Even LESS likely in a convertable, as there is more weight down low without the steel top.
You will obviously give up a bit of your safety, as well as the child’s in a convertible. I see that you are asking about traveling with the top up. The only thing that would be different in a convertible vice a hardtop, is the difference in safety in a rollover situation. Having nothing solid on top will expose the child to a much greater risk of injury, especially in a rear facing seat. Rear facing seats tend to be well reclined, leaving a child completely exposed to the top. If you will take these things into consideration and drive even more carefully than you would normally, you should have a good, safe, experience.
